Jogging (running) in Morocco

I'd like to know if it's appropriate/safe/O K, to go out for a run in the early mornings while on vacation. I'm traveling to Morocco in mid October and have an early November marathon. Thoughts?

A couple of decades ago there might have been raised eyebrows at the sight, but even Marrakech has its own Marathon nowadays.

I cannot imagine why not. Like anywhere, take ID and a card from your accommodation. Have fun.

And relax. I get it--I was a tiny bit apprehensive prior to my trip as well. Just use common sense and a high degree of street smarts, like you would traveling anywhere else. You are going to Morocco, not Syria.

Indeed. Morocco depends on tourism and has for a very long time. They're used to westerners and are tolerant. But that's not to say visitors should ignore basic courtesy to local customs. Regarding skin, for instance, less is more, but no one expects tourists to walk around with their heads covered. As MinnBeef says, common sense.
