My son is going to visit his friend who is a Peace Corp. volunteer the end of Dec. for 2 weeks. Anything he should know about?

People are very friendly. Good to take essentials for comfort. Drink only bottled water. If staying away from major cities. Spent a month there myself in July and early Aug. It was a great experience. American currency is worth more than the cedis. $1.00=6,000cedis when I was there. A bottle of coke was 800 hundred cedis. We only had a problem with people trying to sell you everything under the sun. Had a great time. Going back next summer to continue helping a friend build a school. Your son should have a great life changing experience, he should remember it is a third world country. It was very peaceful there. Just take the usual personal safety precautions and he'll be okay.
