Hiring Private Tour Guide in Egypt

My wife and I are fairly independent travelers (not fans of the large tour groups) but we hear it is best to have a guide in Egypt. Can anyone recommend a good private guide?

My husband and I are fairly independent as well but wouldn't mind sharing a travel guide in Cairo or Luxor with another couple or small group. We will be visiting both at the end of February for a few days. If you're interested we'll be in Cairo 2/24-2/26 and Luxor on the 27th. Just a thought.

Contact Tut Egypt Tours at www.tutegypt.com. Tell them what you want and they'll provide you with a guide and driver.

I was in Egypt a few months ago and hired a terrific Tour Guide in Cairo.

She is a lovely lady ( about age 40-45) and is from the USA (now living in Cairo)..so her English is perfect.

If you want her e-mail and more details write to me at:

My wife and I just returned from an amazing trip to Egypt where we spent 8 days seeing Egypt - Cairo, Luxor, Abu Simbel, Aswan, Nile cruise and so much more...fantastic! Ahmed Hamed Youssif, (his email is [email protected]) was our guide and seriously made our trip all the more amazing. We found him recommended by others on this forum and he was so knowledgable as he is an "egyptologist"! He seriously treated us better than family. He truly cares about tourism in his country and wants to make sure you see and learn about this incredible country. He arranged everything and made sure we always had the cleanest and safest hotels, cars, restaurants and more. After we finished the tour, we stayed in Cairo for 3 additional days on our own. Ahmed called every day to make sure we were ok and to see if we needed anything. We were very impressed and would highly recommend him. Enjoy your trip!

Contact Debbie Senters at Casual Cairo Detours at Dds71@aol... that may be whom Percy makes reference. Outstanding guide and a wealth of information for travel in Egypt.

Hello,

I've been in touch with Debbie about my trip to Egypt this coming March, and she has been very helpful. She's quite busy and can take a few days to get back to you by email, but the wait is worth it!

Cheers,
Julian
