hiking kilimanjaro
DH is wanting to hike Mt Kili and is just beginning to look into the possibility. Any suggestions of good reads, best routes, tips, do's and don'ts, trip reports, guide companies, season to go, etc. would be most welcome. He is thinking of the 6 day hike in 2013, is in very good physical condition, and does a lot of hiking/trekking in the Rocky Mountains.

Can't even think about this right now. I just hasd a friend die on Kili three weeks ago. Altitude sickness. Not discouraging your DH's hike, just reflecting.... Obviously the vast majority of folks have no problems with it.
