hi everyone! my trip parter is a citizen of india, currently residing in the US, but moving back to india in a couple months. i know he must obtain his egyptian visa in advance.
anyone know what the website is to visit for the application form etc.?

also, how far in advance should he apply, and how long will the visa be good for from date of issue? would it be best to apply for the visa while he is still in the US? or must he wait until he is in india to apply (since he'll be living there at the time of the trip)? thanks so much!

I can't answer your questions, and you know what? No matter what anyone tells you here, I would be contacting your local Egyptian Embassy for the REAL answers. Odds are slim anyone here will know for sure, and IF you can get an answer from the Egyptian Embassy, the information should be better. It's probably worth a telephone call to them to find out.

thanks so much! yes, my tour operator has informed me that he suspects the visa could be obtained at the airport, along w/mine, but that i should call the embassy to be sure. thanks again!

Oh yeah - by all means don't trust that. How awful would that be to find out he is wrong? Actually, the airlines should know as they shouldn't be allowing someone on board to Cairo that doesn't have a visa that needs a visa, but I wouldn't trust them 100% either. I'm sure they aren't all that well trained in this. Certainly not enough to take responsibility if they gave you wrong info.

i also dont think that Indian citizen can take the visa in the airport , but you should apply for visa and they will ask you for hotel reservation in Egypt or tour reservation so try to book hotel or any tour in Egypt and let them email the confirmation for you and show this for them when you are applying for visa , this will help you to get the visa ,
