best month to visit Namibia?
My husband and I are in the very beginning stages of planning our first trip to Namibia. We would like to go on a safari while there and thus would like to see lots of animals. We are trying to determine what is the best time of the year to visit Namibia. I have done extensive reading on this site but am still hoping someone can answer me directly. We were initially thinking next March but that seems to be the end of the rainy season. Is that true? And if so, would it not be worthwhile to visit then? Would late September/early October be better? Thank you!

SeaPuff, your best time to safari in Namibia (presumably Etosha) would be during June-October. I would stay away during March. The best safari viewing is during September and October, before the rains come, but it can also get very hot then (if that's an issue with you).
The following link gives a bit of a safari season rundown:

Our two visits have both been in June - beautiful sunny clear days with lovely blue skies, warm (to us) temperatures during the day, chilly nights (and early mornings and late afternoons)... for us it's a perfect time to visit.

Thank you Chris_R and Kavey for your responses. They were both very helpful (the website is fantastic!)and as a result, my husband and I are planning a trip for September. Thanks again!

I currently live in Namibia and would gladly help with suggestions of time and place. Namibia is beautiful at the moment from all the rain, and i woudl advise booking well in advance if you want to travel in September.. Its a popular month. I can also suggest some hotels/lodges.
