Amman to Tel Aviv
Hello all, trying to establish best way to get from Amman to Tel Aviv.
It seems Royal Jordainian is the main option? Does anyone else have any other experiences, is land travel a possibility?

crossing by land is an option, but you have to stay on top of the situation. From Amman, you can take a bus or taxi. bus is very cheap, taxi maybe $40 (not sure). then you cross the border and again take a bus or taxi. there's one crossing (King Hussein bridge, i believe, but check) that's used for foreigners/tourist and is more streamlined. If you plan to come back to Jordan, make sure you have a multi-entry visa. Drive time from Amman to border is about 1 hr and from border to Tel Aviv is also about 1hr. time at border depends.

Thanks lerasp, ... "but you have to stay on top of the situation "
do you mean keep your wits about you???
Would it be reasonable easy as a solo traveller?
Anyone with recent experience please?

no, i just meant to check if the border is actually open and be aware of any political problems going on. I've talked people who've crossed it regularly and they told me that border rarely closes, but there's never any guarantees. actually, i was wrong in my post about distance to telaviv. i was thinking of distance to jerusalem, so to telaviv will be a bit further.
here's a website for schedule of borders:
http://www.israel-embassy.org.uk/web/pages/jordan.htm
this website gives very detailed explanation of all ins and out of crossing:

You need to decide if you care about having an Israeli stamp or not.

Many thanks lerasp. Will pass on to my son. He is contemplating a tour through Egypt and Jordan which ends in Amman and then he needs to get to Tel Aviv. (I know, he is doing his own research but Mum likes to help out!)
This will be very useful info.
