2 Weeks in Egypt, June 2011

Color me frustrated. I and my family (group of 4, all adults) can only schedule a vacation in Egypt the first two weeks of June. A week ago, we were excited to see that Uniworld offered cruises on the Nile during that period (we have known for several years that most river boats go into dry dock from the end of May until September) but today I see that they have withdrawn all those itineraries. Does anyone have any advice? We really can only travel as a family during this period and being on the Nile seemed perfect. There must be other itineraries and travel groups using dependable guides; please advise? Thanks so much!

Do a search on google for Nile cruises. Check out departure dates to find something for June. M/S Tosca sails in June but may have to go through tour pkg. agent?? Send off some inquiries/e-mails to recommended local agents with your dates. Do a search here on the forum for those agents used and recommended by folks here.

Google STI travel in Hackensack, New Jersey. It is a branch of
Sakkara Travel in Egypt. The folks there are very good and should be able to help you. The agency has their own cruise sheips and I am sure that they are able to place folks on other ships, also. The agency will do a custom trip for you and it takes credit cards.

Assuming the 2/weeks isn't the Nile cruise only. Balance would be visiting elsewhere in Egypt, as few days in Cairo, maybe extra day at Luxor pre-or post-cruise, Abu Simbel... or down to Sharm for a few days.

There are a number of reputable in-country Egyptian tour operators listed here on Fodor's (Lady Egypt for one) that can handle an itinerary along with a Nile Cruise and if you have a specific boat of interest, mention it to them.

If seeking a company in the States, you can contact Gate-1 (Phila, PA area), or Isram (NYC) who both handle Egypt itineraries as group departures or private just for your family.

yes you need two weeks to cover visiting the most famous parts of egypt,i think that you need 4nights 5 days in the cruise boat, and the rest you can spend between Cairo,Alex.white desert and sharm.as you are 4 adults of one family,i recommend tours egypt(as one of my friends have been to egypt through them,he told that they were fatastic, but my last family tours to Egypt was with Egypt Quality tours, honestly they were excellent.
