Rocco
Those I'd already heard of - hadn't ever come across the donkey/ zebra mix before!
Actually ligers and tigons are quite common in circus environments, breeding centres and so on but I have to say I'm not a supporter. The two species evolved over long periods of time in response to environmental demands. To create new species on a whim seems folly. ALSO I saw a documentary on one of the two which was huge, much bigger than either species would normally be, and experts suspected that the crossing of two species like this had somehow screwed up those genes that control growth and the end of the growth period during the animal's youth. Anyway, just burbling out loud...

Oh Kavey...lighten up! ;)

I'm just adding to the circus environment of this post, not debating the ethics of Ligers and Tigons. :)

Rocco, you jump to conclusions - do you think I started this thread for anything other than the humour... it was simply that your addition made me think about this documentary and I was simply thinking out loud about that side of things. One can see humour at the same time as being aware of more serious issues you know - nothing is black and white nor should it be...
