Zimbabwe: Troutbeck in eastern highlands vs Victoria falls

I have a question regarding Zimbabwe. We have the opportunity to stay in the time share lodge of one of the party members. This has the advantage of being cheap and the disadvantage of having to stay in the same spot for a whole week. We wish to see all the major sites in Zimbabwe in 3 weeks. The time share has only two options available to us. They are:

Troutbeck inn in the eastern highlands close to Nyange and Lokuthula Lodge (formerly known as Victoria Falls Safari Lodge) at Victoria Falls. My question now is: If you had to spend one week out of 3 at one of these destinations, which would you choose? We will in any case visit the other one as well, but only for 2 to 3 days and not for a week.

It seems possible to take day trips from Victoria Falls to Chobe and Hwange, but Troutbeck seems to be very far from any other major attraction. Can you suggest day trips from any of these destinations?

Kind regards
Anneke
