Zambia--shopping for baskets

Hi there, I will be in Zambia next month and am interested in buying quality baskets, does anyone know a good source and can also give me a good idea of how much to pay? Are there any other crafts in Zambia that I should know about.

Thanks

If you are going to South Luangwa NP, you should check out items made with hand-painted textiles from Tribal Textiles. Their workshop is near the park entrance, but most of the camps carry them in their "gift shops."

If you are driving, the basket village which is open 24/7 just on the western side of the luangwa brisge on the great east road, perhaps midway between Lusaka and Petauke.

Thanks so much for your response; but I am flying from Lusaka to Mfuwe airport--any other suggestions? I can't wait. Are you from Zambia?

No, but I am an African. I have travelled Zambia by 4x4 and know it quite well. You could buy baskets in Mfuwe too, but I do not think the chjoice is that great
