Zambia - Proof of Insurance

Zambia - Proof of Insurance

The following is posted on the Zambia Tourist Board website:

"Third party insurance must be purchased at the border for a nominal fee. "

I believe this is around $25 USD. My question is I have taken out medical/evacuation insurance through Access America. I am assuming if I show them proof of this coverage I am not required to buy further insurance upon entry. What have people's experience been upon entry on this issue?

This refers to automobile insurance. If you're not bringing a car into the country it doesn't apply. If you are, you need proof of insurance valid in the PTA countries.

The PTA is an economic coalition of African countries. Zambia is one of them.

Yes, I noticed the reference on thier site. It really needs more qualification.
