Zambia innoculations

To anyone or, of course, Rocconi - Are there any drugs I need to be injesting or injecting before my trip? Besides malarone, what should I be doing??? Only about 3 months away now....eeek!!! More questions forthcoming, I'm sure... :-D

Thanks! Sharon ((@))

we got typhoid shot, tetanus shot, hep A shot and polio vaccine. Took with us- malarone, cipro (didn't need), and ambien. 3 months!! WOOHOO! Time is flying for you! (I've still got 3 weeks from today :( !)

NOTHING.
Take malaria prophylactics and that is all you need.

Hee hee! Gotta love this board. We are none too short on opinions... and that is a good thing. For a trip to Turkey a few years back I got the Hep series, and I'm good on the others mentioned except typhoid - I didn't think we needed that. Were just being a bit more cautious, Dennis? As far as I am concerned the fewer drugs the better.

Yep - it is coming quickly now Dennis...I'm starteed to freak out about having everything I need!!!!! I just heard from Barry and I hope things turn around for your birthday but they haven't seen the dogs in a while... :-(

Cheers all and thanks. Hopefully Rocco will weigh in at some point.... :-)

Were YOU just being a bit more..

I'm STARTING to freak out....

(and apparently flake out as well...)

:-)

((@)) I just went with what the cdc and the travel doctor had in his reports. As much as I hate shots, I took their advice whether needed or not. Figured they know more than I did.

I've had all but Thyphoid. The Yellow Fever, Hep A are good for 10-years; polio booster for the remainder of your life. If you've had the above, you should be set along with the malarone.
