Zambia in 3 Days!
 

We leave in 3 days to Lusaka. We decided not to go to Mongu, but we will go to the Victoria Falls! I'm so excited and trying to finish all the packing! Have any of you ever been to Zambia in Nov. Also we will start taking the Malarone two days before. Where did you go shopping in Lusaka for local arts and crafts?

Sorry I cannot answer your questions but I did want to say that I hope you have a great trip.

Zambia, now there's another country I haven't been to that sounds worthy of a safari. Let's see, there are approximately 35 countries in Africa, and I know for sure that they've all got their special attractions, things to see/do, etc. So, if I can only afford to do one safari a year, that means I've only got about 33 countries to go since I've already been to Kenya and Tanzania. But, we're going back to Tanzania in June, just gotta do it, so figuring there are at least 10 of those other 33 countries that we'll want to go back to, then that means about 43 more safaris. Let's see, I hate to admit my age, but I do want to be honest here, so I'll be about 107 years old when I go on my last safari. Do you think they'll let me out of the home for at least a week? :D

Definitely take your malarone. The rains have started, and it is hot. Perfect for mosquitos.

In Lusaka there is a marketplace that has crafts on Saturdays-- and a big craft market the last Saturday of each month. But I believe that there are at least some shops/stalls open during the week. Ask your hotel for info (I'm not sure they do this year round) and ask the hotel to arrange a cab or car and driver who will also take you into the market. Don't take valuables, wear a moneybelt and have fun.

However as you are going to Vic Falls/Livingstone, I think you will find a larger selection of crafts in that area than you can find in Lusaka.
