You know you've spent too much time telling your significant other what's going on in Fodorville when...
...you find yourself casually mentioning to your husband "Rocco is going to Tanzania again" and he quickly retorts "With Mitch?" :))
|
Or you're talking to your travelling companion about your itinerary and she says, "Well, what does Sandi think about it?"
|
Those examples are both very funny--love the "with Mitch" one.
I only recently revealed that I log on every day >:-) [I had to explain why I wanted to log on before going to bed] So my partner is not yet familiar with the cast of characters. |
"With mitch" - I like that Patty.
Cute Leely! ... and characters, we are. All of us! |
sandi--agreed, quirks and all.
Patty I am going to slightly rephrase your statement because I haven't been talking to my significant other about it but for a couple of days. "You know you have spent too much time in Fodorville when . . . . . . you hide the fact as if it were a fifth of vodka in a desk drawer." [No, I do not keep a fifth of vodka in my desk drawer.] |
I didn't even realize it said significant other. My eyes just gravitated toward "too much time." Although the friend who's going to TZ with me is the only person who knows about the vodka in my drawer, so to speak. So I guess she's become like my significant other. Or maybe more like a fellow addict. :)
Patty, your husband's response is too funny. I'd love to see a movie of Mitch and Rocco travelling together. |
Have a feeling that video might get an R rating for language and violence...
Cheers, Julian |
OK I should have put significant other/friend/family/travel companion/dog/cat/goldfish in my title!
Julian, ...not to mention a sh***y plot (sorry, I couldn't resist). |
Haven't seen someone around in awhile...could all that bad luck have climaxed with a final transformation???

...when you ask you husband if he thinks we should stay in _ or _ and he says, "What does Eben think?"
|
Rocco,
I can't access your link. I just get a "Album Not Found". |
Your family starts to ask you travel questions and then suggests you ask your "imaginary friends" for advice.

If you are tryin to impress your significant other with your knowledge of photo equipment, she'll respond:
"Are you sure that's what Phil said?". |
I wanna play, I wanna play.
But I'm too woolly-headed to think of anything witty to add! You guys have me guffawing though! :D |
Actually, we have had discussions on what camera equipment to take and he usually responds:
"Less than Rocco's taking" :D (Love ya really, Rocco) |
Kavey,
Well, Alexsandra willing, I may be going to Tanzania, after all, just four months from now. Given that I will not be subject to light air transfers while on the Northern Circuit, I am not too inclined to scale back on the camera equipment any. Any recommendations on different photo equipment that is needed in East Africa (pop up roofs, closed vehicles) in comparison to Southern Africa? I don't see how I could get away with much less equipment, although I may just leave my monopod at home, as I rarely used it (didn't have the patience for it). |
Actually I've read about these clippy thingies that clip onto the roof edge of the pop-up vans and you attach the camera to them like you do to a tripod.
|
If it's not too late to play this little game: I can tell when I mention the name Sandi and my wife asks which one? My ex-wife's name is Sandy. :-)
|
.... you have to take a quick peak whenever you're online. And if I'm caught in the quick peak by my SO I too fib like its the vodka in my desk drawer - or the new shoes in the closet!
