For those who enjoy films about South Africa, I can suggest the following:

HBO Films, by writer/director Darrell James Roodt, a native of South Africa, who also directed "Place of Weeping", "Sarafina!" and "Cry, the Beloved Country."
This is a tear-jerker, no violence really, and certainly worth watching.

Cape of Good Hope.
A lovely story, brilliantly acted and Eriq Ebouaney shines in this I thought. Set in the Cape Town area, it is a feel-good movie about personal lives in today's South Africa. Will make you smile.

Both are available from Netflix. Enjoy.

Was the no violence just for DW?

Thanks James for the movie suggestions. Will look to obtain those films.

For those on the board interested in African produced English language television programming that includes feature films, documentaries, music, soaps, business analysis and more I highly recommend "The Africa Channel". This is a 24/7 cable television network currently available in Atlanta, New Orleans, Washington D.C., Baton Rouge and will be on the air in Detroit in September. Plans are also in the works for the network to be available in other U.S cities and in the U.K.

Thanks, James, and thanks Green Drake for the info on The Africa Channel. I don't live anywhere near any of those cities, but I'll certainly look for it when traveling, and maybe I can bug my local cable company to add it!
