Women's wear for Dubai?

Hi - I'm traveling to Dubai is the beginning of September. I know it's the hottest time of year. I'm tolerant of the heat and humidy, though I want to dress appropriately for the culture. I'm from California and pretty sure my typical summer wear might not be appropriate. What is recommended for a woman to wear to 1. Be comfortable in the heat, 2. Able to go in mosques, and 3. Not offend the local culture? Thanks in advance!

If will go to safari, desert, beach, nightclubs or bars, you can wear anything you want.
As for other places- don't wear anything that shows your shoulders, knees, and cleavage.
If you will visit a mosque, you should wear jeans and a long sleeve shirt (choose a light fabric)take a scarf with you just in case you might have to put one on your head when going into the mosque.
