Wilderness Safari skeleton coast camp

We are planning a trip to namibia to see our daughter (and also the country!) I am thinking of booking a wilderness safari tour thru go2africam "spirit of the Namib" which is mostly "adventurer" camping. One of the camps on the tour I can find nothing about.. "hoanib camp" at skeleton coast.I would appreciate any feedback you can offer about my somewhat tentative plans..the tour is 11 days for $3395.This will be our first trip to africa, so any advice is appreciated..

Interesting, when I looked at the go2africa website and the Wilderness Safaris website, there was no mention of this camp, even on the pages about the Spirit of Namib trip. Has there been a change of itinerary? WS is an excellent operator and it looks like a cool trip.

Perhaps this is not a permanent camp, but rather a "mobile" camp, probably by the river of the same name. Why not email both go2africa and Wilderness Safaris and ask this question?

I think tashak is correct that this is a mobile camp. I was curious so I decided to do a search on google in the image section and a picture came up of a 4x4 vehicle with a tent set up on top of the roof rack.

The only permanent camp that I know of on the remote sections of the Skeleton Coast is WS's Skeleton Coast Camp and as far as I know this can only be reached by small aircraft. We will be staying there next year as part of our trip to Namibia.

yes, there is an itinerary change from this year's trip.We will go to this camp (hoanib) on the skeleton coast, and also stay at the Stiltz in Swankomund. (I found this on the web...looks kind of cool)

Just got a reply from wilderness. This is a new camp on the Hoanib river on the the eastern boundary of Skeleton coast park. It has luxury style meru tents(w/BR). They are going there because "the game is spectacular and it's utterly and completely private."
I'll let you know!

I got curious about this and did a regular google search--not image. Found this. Look at Days 5-6.
