I read the one post here about someone doing this (last minute booking a Delta camp while in Maun), that was pretty much it. I had the Bradt Botswana guide so I knew where the WS, Travel Wild, and Kwando offices were, I figured we would check with each of them.

Our backup options were: 1) drive to Kasane (day trip to Vic Falls, game drives in Chobe), 2) return to Mashatu, 3) extra days driving around Jwana Game Park.

Thanks Nancy! I remember that comment also about booking out of Maun. Good for you for acting upon it.

Enjoying your trip report so much Nancy, still not done though.I love the format. May I asked where you stayed in Makhado? We are looking for recommendations in between Mashatu and Mala Mala. The Coach House has already been recommended.
Thanks! <)

I didn't put the name of the place in Makhado on purpose, cause we didn't like it that much. It's called Adam's Apple. The rooms...need some work. The breakfast was fine. I think something in Tzaneen will work better for you. I turned down the Coach House for price, we just wanted a place to sleep, somewhere cheap but safe. And that's what we got!

Thanks Nancy. It's helpful to know where "not" to stay.
