Wild Dogs Seen on Mala Mala
A pack of 8 adults and 8 six month olds, seen for one day in the south of the property. I would imagine that visitors to Kirkmans also saw this pack, given their location. The pack had come in from Kruger and didn't stay too long in the Leopard rich Mala Mala area.

90 days and counting
please, just keep it to yourself :-) I don't even have a reservation yet for 2007 :-( regards - tom |
I noticed on their website they show seeing wild dogs in April, May, and August of this year. That would be really cool if a pack of dogs moved in to MM territory.
I wish I was "90 days and counting"! |
Cindy,
They have a HUUUGE home range...so even the entire Sabi Sands is probably not enough room for them to move into on a permanent basis, but, hopefully there are more days the dogs come and go....... Hari |
Great news about the wild dogs.
I just checked the Mala Mala website, which is one of the best I have seen. I really need to add that camp to my next trip to South Africa (but I'm not sure when that will be). |
Sundowner
A pack denned on MM a few years ago, and every day for ten days a Leopard came and took a pup every day until they were gone. So the SSGR is probably a place they should visit only. |
Don't forget all the HUGE lion prides in the SSGR, including those big boys we spoke about last month.......
