Thank you for your thoughtful posting about the immediate threat to the creatures and places we love in Africa. You are right-- the challenges are huge, but we must try to do something. There are local people working very hard to protect wildlife in these places, but they desperately need out help. Perhaps we should start a new thread and exchange ideas on this topic. And if this isn't the place (though I think it is) perhaps we could start an "Africa travel and ACTION" group on google...

Thank you both for your posts. Your opinions matter a lot to me and the kind words touch my heart. Thank you.

Jan-Whenever elephants come up, I just jump on you to take care of it. Don't know why, I guess its just that you care so much.

Tashak-Posting here is fine I agree, but who else sees it? Just us. I'm not familiar with the Google groups. Could you elaborate a bit please? Maybe an additional thread that would highlight the subject matter better than this one does. A lot of different things going on here and it doesn't do justice to the critical nature of the plight. Liz
