I am leaving Friday for Tanzania!!! Is anybody else leaving soon? I can't concentrate or relax and am beginning to have difficulty speaking in complete sentences. I am so excited, wanted to share w/people who I know understand! Thanks for all the great info/trip reports I have poured over for almost a year! Again...anybody else leaving soon?

Not soon enough.
Even if your speaking is impaired your typing is fine.
Have a fantastic trip. We understand.

I don't leave until June 28, so I still have a bit more than three months. My June/July trip will take me to Hluhluwe and Kgalagadi in South Africa, two new parks for me. I also arranged a short visit to Lesotho, and maybe able to ski while I'm there (they get snow at that altitude in Winter).
I'm going to squeeze in a short trip to St. Petersburg, Russia before that (likely around Memorial Day).

Countingdown,
I leave for Botswana and Zambia June 16th. I know exactly how you feel as I have dreamt of this trip for 25 years (children got in the way). If someone asks me about my upcoming trip I tend to ramble on and on. After reading all the great trip reports on Tanzania I am now setting my sights on a trip there in the future. Have a great time.

Jack,
I can't seem to find your itinerary. I remember this trip is a grad present with your son. What's on the menu?

Hi Leely,
I was thinking about asking you the same thing when I saw you're leaving about the same time as we are. We leave on June 18. We'll be in Kigongoni and Gibbs Farm before going to Ikoma tented camp for a couple of nights, then Olakira for a couple more. Decided on Ikoma, although not as nice as some, because we can do night game drives there. I think Olakira will be quite a bit nicer. Our first trip last summer was an all lodge safari, so we're excited about staying in tents this time. What does your itinerary look like?

Jack,
My friend and I are going with her mom this time, so it's a "taste the Northern Circuit" trip. Roughing it (Mawe Ninga and Ronjo), slumming it (Wildlife Lodge at Crater) and splurging it (Nomad Serengeti).
Can't wait!
