What to do in Tunis?

We are coming in to Tunis/Carthage/La Goulette on a cruise ship. We have from 7am till 6pm. What should we do? What is the best way to get to the Bardo museum? Is there a good beach to visit?

Probably the best way is by taxi. Make sure you figure out where you want to go and understand what your rate there and back is, or for the day if you want to go to more that one place. Don't be surprised if you have to haggle some more at the end.

I think La Marsa was the beach we went to. Sidi Bou Said, also nearby, was the most interesting place we went to. A small touristy shopping town up on a cliff.

Are you American? I found the North Africa WWII Cemetery particularly moving. The large property is kept up beautifully and there are American attendants in a large office-type building to answer any questions.
