Julian, you have to add African tour agent/ operator to your resume now you're a multi-tasking business man too! :D

I'm an IT Trainer, self employed for the last 3-4 years. Before that I did the same job for the UK's largest tour operator (or at least we were then, mainstream package holidays). I was based in UK but also did trips overseas to train resort administration staff. Before that same job again but for a couple of training companies.

I now also do a little web design/ development, quite a bit of consultancy and am working to develop photography sales as a side line. (Sadly, I doubt I'll ever be able to make it a full time career).

Good point, Kavey -- I'm still not quite used to having both jobs! So it should be:

1. Doctor (academic medicine, meaning a combination of teaching, research, and clinical work)

2. Partner in Destiny Africa (tailor-made safaris to Southern Africa -- and perhaps eventually to East Africa)

Cheers,
Julian

Investor and business advisor to an entrepreneurial Maasai family in Tanzania. It has been an amazing experience to watch them make the most of an opportunity.

As they are stepping up, I am stepping down. (hmmm, where have I heard this?)

My future is filming travel videos in Tanzania and here in the Eastern US.

eben: what does that mean in terms of your involvment with kiliwarriors and the new safari company?

cybor: your work is fascinating and permits you to have a really useful skill to help people and travel.

Lillipets, if Feliway is not doing the job for a very scary cat, what would you recommend ;)

Manufacturing and Computer Systems engineer in the Automotive Industry.

I'm one of many people trying to keep an American company alive by improving systems and planning at existing plants in the US and Canada.

When the global nature of labor demands an assembly be made elsewhere, I help make the move. The world is a very small place these days.

I'm an artist with a background in teaching English as a Second Language to foreign execs and their dependents. I've also been a stockbroker, banker and general contractor. But now that we've taken "early retirement", I hope to be a vagabond off to see the world!

Professionally: Employment and Education Coordinator for military families.

On the side: Loxodonta Africana naturalist.

I prefer the latter, but don't get paid for it - strictly for my own pleasure.

Faccina-
If you have a shy cat it may not have been socialized at a young age, or it may just be genetically shy(born that way-just like some people are introverts and some are extroverts). If Feliway isn't helping, cats and dogs can take anti anxiety meds. It just depends on the situation. The meds are usually combined with a behavior modification program. You can reach me at [email protected] if you want more information. I had a cat that acted like she had never seen a human for every day of her 16+ years!

I don't know how to describe my job. I am a Senior Manager with Big4/5 firm and oficially work in "Communications and Training", but I actually spend most of my time as a translator, content editor ("content" prefix excuses my multitude of typos - not my job..heh heh) and nowadays in charge of "electronic channels" - Web site content, intranet content and knowledge database content. I used to be a teacher (hence "training") but I don't have time any more and someone else is doing that.

Clear as mud, right?

stamiya Mar 7th, 2006 09:44 PM

Real Estate lawyer, edging toward retirement, with a well-earned reputation for stretching every 3-week vacation into 4 weeks, which doesn't make me real popular with the people who have to handle my clients while I'm off having fun and adventures! But, hey, ya gotta get some payback for getting old!
