What is Bahrain like?

I plan to go to Bahrain for a vacation. What is the country like? Is it safe for a solo woman traveler? What are the must-visit places?

Hi Bahrain is probably one of the most Westernised of the Gulf States, full of shopping malls and big hotels. It's a small island, but very safe, as a solo woman traveller you'll be fine. You may want to check out this link for more info http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldgui...e-east/bahrain

How many days are you planning on staying in Bahrain? Have you ever traveled to a Middle East country before? Also, what makes you want to travel to Bahrain? Why not UAE? Iran? Oman? Jordan? I live in the Middle East, and I find Bahrain quite boring. The shopping is horrible, the beached are mediocre, however, there are few good restraunt, but nothing like UAE.

Good luck.

I can think of a reason to travel to visit Bahrain instead of Iran right now...

Its safe for acquitted, popstar pedophiles, so its probably safe for solo woman travelers.
