Weather in May in Africa ...

Just thinking about a safari in May '02.

Any comments about weather during that time of the year would be appreciated.

Is there a best time of the year to go??

Thx.

Where do you want to go Bob? Africa is a big continent with many climates.

Hi Bob,

We were in Kenya (Masai Mara/Lake Nakuru) last May 2 and the weather was PERFECT. We were told it was the rainy season but it only sprinkled on us one afternoon and it did not hamper our seeing the animals or anything else.

It was cool (long-sleeve shirts) in the mornings and night and sunny and around 75 in the afternoons. We could not have ordered better weather.

I hope you have the same good luck.
Sandy

We were in Kenya last May and it did rain every day and we stucked in a mud three times. One time for four hours.I wouldn't recommend Kenya in May. two years ago we were there in October and the weather was perfect.
