Weather in March

Hi

Is March a good time to explore Egypt weatherwise ???

I have heard there are major sandstorms at this time of year, is this a problem for travelling around (especially since I'm an asthmatic!).

Thanks

Hi freddo,
We were in Cairo and cruise down the Nile from March 19-28, this year.
In our opinion the weather was perfect.
Daytime in Cairo- 70's with a warm breeze, nights 65-70.
Cruise-80's during the day, and nights about 70's. Onboard while the boat was cruising, light jacket or sweater on deck only at night; not on shore.
We did not experience any sandstorms.
We had a wonderful time in Egypt.
If you have anymore questions, I'd be happy to answer.
Christine

I agree with Christine. We've also been on a Nile cruise in March (1999) and found the weather to be perfect. Same at the Red Sea, where we've had major sandstorms in the month of May once. Not in March.
