I am heading to Chobe in two weeks and have been concerned about the impact of the reported rain as well. Any comments on the weather and the impact on the viewing would be much appreciated by me as well.

Just been in Kasane, great rainfall, lots of elles in Kasane.Quite strange as they normally dont hang around Kasane at this time of year.

I've heard that the rains are so good and that due to the excess water that ellies have been seen as a far south as the Makgadikgadi Pans. Must be wonderful to see them where they ranged in years past.

I travelled the Nata - Maun road last week and it was flooded. Water literally flowing across the road. The pans must be very full, I should think they'd be inaccessible for quite a while.

Was in Kasane just after new year and there wasn't much wildlife on the riverfront... some of the lodges were travelling along the Ngoma transit road and even off the Nata - Kasane road with clients in desperation looking for wildlife!
