For southern Tanzania, the coverage has to be for 1000km from Nairobi.

Lynda, an e-mail is in the works along with my trip report! You know, I was wondering about your rash when we were in Ruaha. I recall you saying a doctor looked at it and gave you something...it sounds like maybe it was indeed Nairobi fly. I'm concerned you say your skin is still discoloured. My patches are 5 - 6 inches across and still red and awful, though slowly drying up. Thank god it wasn't on the face!!!!
Kennedy is a fantastic guy and a true friend. We adored his wife Valentine and daughter Sarah - incredible child! We can't wait to visit them again. Thank goodness for Africa fodorites, we are in desperate need of a support group as coming back from Africa is hard to bear. |

So sorry for your experience and thanks for the warning. |
Just some advice on Blister beetles,
Where the blister forms do not break it ,the fluid will run and create more blisters. Climb in a shower or swimming pool and break the blisters. You can also use raw tomatoes to rub on the blister. |
Hi thanks for your information. Hope you will be ok soon.
Will be in the Serengeti in two weeks for a 8 night stay on special campsites. Will love reading your trip report. Travelling Africa since 1996 and never heart about the Nairobi fly. But this is the first time we will travel Africa in the rainy season. Now I know, never splash a Nairobi fly. Thanks for joining. Nxai |
I've had the same experience, but I just want to point out that no medecin is needed: just put thoothpaste on your skin, and you will be fine in 1 or 2 days!
