Warm clothes needed on safari?

My wife and I will be on safari the last two weeks of September in Tanzania. We will be on a mobile camping safari and will be visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengheti. Will we need warm clothes? I keep reading about how cold it can get at the crater, but wasn't sure about that time of year.

Yes, as evenings and mornings can be very chilly

You will definately need warm clothes, the best thing to do is to dress in layers. Besides the late evenings. If you go on an early morning game drive.. it's pretty cold so you will need a jacket or sweat shirt of some kind. However by the time you are heading back for lunch, the sun is shining and it's getting warm, so you need to be able to peel off your clothes. ave a wonderful time!

I have the same concern about Botswana - anybody know how cold "cold" is for morning and late evening game drives in Okavango and Chobe during the second half of September? Will gloves and scarves still be needed? Also, what about the potential for rain.
