Wadi Rum
We are going to sleep over at a Bedouin camp for one night. Any advice on clothing etc? What are the facilities normally like?
|
I was in Jordan last month and spend a night at a Bedouin camp in the Wadi Rum area.
We were served a tagine type meal (very good) and spent the evening around a campfire drinking tea while the younger Bedouin folks sought out signal for their mobile phones so they could text each other. We compared ring tones - it was pretty fun actually. When the sun went down, we put on the fleece but it really was not very cold. We slept in a large tent in sleeping bags. Some of our group slept outside under the stars. There was even a flush toilet which was very extravagant for camping. In the morning the camel guy came and we all rode the camels. You will enjoy it. |
From one Queen to another - who did you use to set up your Bedouin trip and would you recommend them? Thinking about something like this for next year.
Thanks! |
Hi Queenie, I'm also curious to hear more about your Jordan trip, and what group you traveled with. Have you written a trip report?
Elzeth, are you going with a tour, or arranging this on your own? |
Oh dear! I am ashamed to say that I did not write a trip report. But I must write one as this experience was beyond wonderful. And I have traveled to many countries on many continents...Jordan was an unexpected highlight. This was a 9 day bike trip from the north down to Aqaba. We went with Exodus:www.exodus.co.uk They were fabulous. Off to write the report... |
No worries -- thanks in advance! Glad you had a great trip, and I look forward to reading whatever you have time to write.

We are two mature couples who are going on a tour with Atlas Tours. I gave them my itinerary and they gave us a custom made tour for a very good price. If they deliver what is on paper, it will be fantastic.
