VISA requirement for Egypt
The trip we are planning is over a year away so time is not an issue. What is the best way for us to get the necessary Visa's for an Egypt visit?
|
Egypt has a simple visa-on-arrival system. Do a search for the details, countries' citizens that qualify, cash needed to pay for it, etc. There are bank kiosks between the arrival gates & immigration. It takes seconds to do.
I had some concern in advance, was reassured by experienced TA forum members and found the process as easy as a visa process can be. My trip was this past November so fairly recent information but do check the Egypt consulate website for any possible changes. |
Easy peasy...takes mere minutes. Must have cash though. I believe it was also payable in Euros and US dollars.
|
If you from are from USA, Canada or Eruo zone its easy obtain visa with 25 $ or Euro upon arrival
If you not from that nationalities its better to check first |
we are US citizens, and have planned to do a Jerusalem visit for 4 days before flying to Cairo. Will we need to have a VISA for Israel and Egypt? Is the VISA done at the immigration area? It would helpful if someone could describe the process upon landing.
|
Regarding Egypt, yes, the visa is done in the immigration area. As you proceed toward the immigration officers’ desks, you stop at one of several bank booths where you’ll buy your visa for $25 cash US dollars. You hand it to an officer with your passport, they stick it in and off you go.
See information under “entry, exit & visa requirements” here: https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...ges/Egypt.html I have no recent experience visiting Israel, information here: https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...mmode=disabled |
If you o with a tour manager like Memphis, the tour manager will meet you at the airport and will handle the visa formalities for you. Give him/her the fees and they take care of it. The guy at the counter didn't even speak to us. The TM handed him our passports and the fee and he did his thing and handed it back. It was a lot easier to get into Egypt than it was to get back into the US.

It was super easy to get a Visa. Literally only take a few minutes and was only about 25$. The counter is on the right hand side just before customs.
|
You can search for it on the Egyptian governmental website, and you can also search for any other needed requirements in egyptvisa (dot) com.
Put in mind that it differs from a nationality to another so search for it as per your nationality. |
How to verify Evisa
We are going in February and obtained a visa through Ivisa. Is there anyway to confirm the Visa is legitimate? We paid a small fee but wanted to get everything in order before we go since we will be arriving very late at night. I cannot reach anyone at any of the U S. Consulates. Thank you
|
US consulates have no involvement in issuing Egypt visas. They'll refer you to Egyptian sources.
If you have a visa already, fine. If it isn't legitimate simply get one at the airport on arrival, as mentioned above. I see no reason to worry as the worst that can happen is you've thrown away a bit of money, whatever you paid the agency. Regarding your arrival time, anytime there are overseas arrivals immigration & visa services are operating. |
Getting the visa upon arrival is super easy and quick. Just have the cash and it will go even quicker.
