Visa needed in Egypt?

My husband and I will be in Egypt for 5 days in February and are confused about the posts here noting their private guides getting their visas for them. Are these required for a short visit? If so, how do we get them? How much do they cost? Thanks for any advise.

Yes, visas are required regardless of length of visit. Your guides (if they are in country) should be able to obtain the visa in advance for you OR you can get them yourself when you arrive. Cost ranges from 10 to 30 US dollars depending on your citizenship.

If your guide can't or doesn't do this... no worry. It's easy to obtain on your own when you arrive. Takes only a few minutes. For US citizen's believe it's $20 or less; not certain about other citizenships, but the Egyptian Tourism website should have this information, if needed.

It's $15 for US citizens and you get it at the airport when you arrive. VERY easy.
