The hallway connecting the two passport control areas could be to your left or right depending on which set of desks you're standing in front of in the first place which depends on your arrival gate. But yes, you'll pass the prayer room, KQ lounge, etc. on your way down the hall. The two areas are laid out like mirror images of each other, hence the comments about whether the visa desk is on the right or left. Neither area is secret or hidden. It's just that sheeple (and I include myself in that description ) tend to flock to the set of desks closest to their arrival gate. It took me 4 trips to figure out that there are two sets of desks!

And luggage offloading can be painfully slow at NBO. If you have checked luggage, you could be waiting a while even if you get your visa quickly.

Would a single-entry visa (US passport) suffice for entry from US and re-entry from Madagascar within aa 30-day period?

I don't believe a single entry is valid for re-entry from Madagascar. But if one of your entries is 24 hours or less, you could get the cheaper transit visa for that entry.

Would love to hear more about your itinerary.

Hello, Patty. We have AA/BA tickets to Nairobi for September and I am thinking about spending a week in Madagascar. Madagascar Air flies to/from Nairobi/Tana on Wednesdays and I think a week should be enough for us. Do you have any plans again to visit Madagascar?

Madagascar is on hold for us right now but we're headed back to Kenya in June. Any idea where you will go yet?

Patty, with only a week, we'll probably just go to Perinet and down to Berenty for several days.

Leanna,
Do you mean Lake Victoria or Victoria Falls? Also there are 2 airports near Victoria Falls (I've been to neither).

Have fun planning and have a great trip, Jane. Please let me know how you liked it wherever you end up.
