Videos - Stakerk, Kenya, Aug. 2006, Part 1
Dear Fodorite Friends:
The following is the link some have seen before to photos taken by my wife and children: http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=...0&y=xznihu However, I hauled around a camcorder everywhere we went. I don't think you would want to see the entire 9 hours of tape I recorded. Hence, the following are links on videoegg to some scenes (average about 2 minutes each) I have clumsily edited: Giraffes in Samburu Checking Out Walking Humans: http://videoegg.com/video/hvVOp Giraffe Crossing River: http://videoegg.com/video/hvbUo Leopard in the Samburu: http://videoegg.com/video/hUtQr 15 Reticulated Giraffes Feeding Together in Samburu: http://videoegg.com/video/hvVIo Samburu Dancers: http://videoegg.com/video/hvVUT Lions Mating in the Samburu: http://videoegg.com/video/hvOET Mama Cheetah with Four Cubs: http://videoegg.com/video/hyxRW Asante Sana for all your help, Kevin from California P.S. Trip report soon. I wanted to work on posting the photos and video first. |
Thanks! Enjoyed the videos!

Um, aren't you walking pretty close to that crocodile infested river?
Great view of the leopard! |
Thanks for sharing these! How long was your walking safari? Was this done in lieu of a game drive? Is it easy to arrange this upon arrival at Larsens?
|
I love your videos! I can't even pick a favorite, as they are all so interesting! Thanks for sharing.

Patty:
The game walk was in Samburu out of Larsen's. Was in addition to game drives. We departed after breakfast, about 10 am, and returned about noon. Was only $10 per person, a fantastic bargain for such an adventure. I am normally pretty brave, but was getting concerned because the giraffe were getting so close. |
Do giraffes attack? I know they can kick a lion to death but didn't think they'd attack.
|
Favorite? Oh, it has to be the mama cheetah and cubs.
I do love the giraffes watching you all on your walk too. Thanks, Kevin! |
