Victoria Falls Steam Train

Has any one done a dinner trip on the steam train that goes across? halfway? the bridge at Victoria Falls? It is apparently based in Vic Falls, but then travels into the Zambezi Nat'l Park. Which side? Does one need a multi-entry Zimbabwe visa just to do this trip (assumption is one is staying in Zim to begin with? We'll be at Ilala in October for 2 nights and thought this might be a cool thing to do. Their website is not clear about this, and the "contact us" link wants all sorts of info (including telephone number) just to ask a question.

We've got tons of time to look into things to do, and we'll really only be there 2 nights in October before we head off for 9 nights on safari.

hi - we represent the Victoria Falls Steam Train which operates sundowner trips to the middle of the bridge from the Victoria Falls Station opposite the Victoria Falls Hotel (on the Zimbabwe side)
It is a unique trip in that one caannot normally come to stop on the bridge and view the falls from the Gorge. In addition, the train is an authentic steam train offering dining, lounge or simply a cocktail bar option, the fare includes drinks and snacks.
Do not hesitate to contact us for further information on www. streamtraincompany.com.
Ask for me, with best regards, Suzette
