Victoria Falls: Stay there or in Livingstone
Our safari ends at Victoria Falls and we have 4 days before we head back home. We can use hotel points to stay in Livingstone.
1. How difficult is it to get back and forth between Livingstone and Victoria Falls/between countries? 2. Do you recommend staying one place over another? Livingstone is attractive as it is away from all of the tourists. I would think it would be easy enough to take day trips from either location? We;ll be going in September. Comments, suggestions please! |
We stayed on the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, side and did not go into Livingstone town, so I cannot comment on it. Going from one side to another is easy enough, on foot or by taxi. On foot takes about 30-45 minutes including immigration and customs, which were simple. Make sure you obtain multiple entry visas for whichever side of the border you’re staying at. |
I’m not sure you can get away from tourists on the Livingstone side anymore. When I was at VF about 20 years ago I stayed on the Zim side and Livingstone was quieter, but since the troubles in Zimbabwe there has been a lot of development on the Zambia side. More recently my daughter and SIL stayed on the Zambia side and were happy with their choice. |
Thank you!
