Victoria Falls: Stay there or in Livingstone

Our safari ends at Victoria Falls and we have 4 days before we head back home. We can use hotel points to stay in Livingstone.
1. How difficult is it to get back and forth between Livingstone and Victoria Falls/between countries?
2. Do you recommend staying one place over another? Livingstone is attractive as it is away from all of the tourists.

I would think it would be easy enough to take day trips from either location? We;ll be going in September.

Comments, suggestions please!

We stayed on the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, side and did not go into Livingstone town, so I cannot comment on it. Going from one side to another is easy enough, on foot or by taxi. On foot takes about 30-45 minutes including immigration and customs, which were simple. Make sure you obtain multiple entry visas for whichever side of the border you’re staying at.

I’m not sure you can get away from tourists on the Livingstone side anymore. When I was at VF about 20 years ago I stayed on the Zim side and Livingstone was quieter, but since the troubles in Zimbabwe there has been a lot of development on the Zambia side. More recently my daughter and SIL stayed on the Zambia side and were happy with their choice.
