Victoria Falls Question

In weighing staying at a place like Tongabezi or Songwe Village vs. staying at Matetsi Water Lodge, I find myself wondering if there will be enough to do during the day, without risking life and limb bungee jumping or riding the elephants if I were to stay at Tongabezi or Victoria Falls.

Once you see the falls, if you are not up for white water rafting (not what I want to do after 30 hours of traveling) or the previously mentioned activities, what do you do in Victoria Falls?

I mean last time I was in and out of visiting the Falls in about an hour, and it was nice to be escorted by my Matetsi guide. It didn't even cause us to sacrifice a morning or evening game drive to visit the falls from Matetsi.

Matetsi is definitely no Mombo or Singita in terms of gameviewing, but there are plenty of elephants and giraffes, as well as other game. Plus, with your own personal plunge pool not more than 50 meters from the Zambezi River, the little time that is not spent on game activities but instead at the lodge is very rewarding.

The only thing that I will miss is the cultural interaction at Songwe Village. Whether it is contrived or not, it is still cultural interaction.

Any feedback that anybody is able to provide on Tongabezi or even Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Sussi Lodge or Stanley Lodge will be appreciated. I realize a few Fodorites have stayed at the Royal Livingstone, but I just don't think I would care for it.

Thanks!
