Victoria falls lodging help, pls

Hello Fodorites,
I realize that most lodging is already booked but... my husband & I are looking for a place to stay in February mid range. I have spent quite some time looking high to low & find no availability. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thank you in advance!

Hi There

February in Vic Falls is not a busy time and you will be able to find accommodation quite easily. Normally quite good specials at this time of year as it is the low season. Do you know which side you are going to stay on yet - Zimbabwe or Zambia - narrowing that down I could then give you some recommendations on mid range accommodation options.

Thanks
Tony

We stayed at the Zambezi Sun (Part of the Sun Hotel chain) a couple of years ago. It wasn't the one that is listed as the Victoria Falls one as that one is pricey. This one is about a 1/4 mi from the Royal Livingstone Hotel and is the Zambezi Sun at Livingstone. The only place I could find it listed was places like Expedia.com but it stays busy as travel agents use it a lot (That's how we learned about it). Here's the Expedia.com listing for it.

It was comfortable and moderately priced with a couple of nice restaurants, a pool, a band at night and you can easily walk to the falls. One morning we looked out and there were 5 Zebra grazing under our veranda. I would book as early as you can though. You may be able to find it somewhere as I do know they have a website.

There is also the Royal Livingstone

near it but it is NOT moderately priced. However, guests at the Zambezi Sun are invited to the Livingstone for 'High Tea' upon arrival and it is worth the time.

This may help a bit as it is through the Sun website.

It is on Mosi-oa-Tunya Road Livingstone Zambia.

I don't remember the exact rates, but they were reasonable and that was in September.

Don't mean to keep posting, but here's a link to the room rates although you will have to convert it.

If you're on the Zim side I suggest Ilala Lodge.

I too suggest Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Lovely, low-key place, helpful staff, short walk to the Falls. Stayed there a few years ago and would certainly stay there again
