Hi Jay- I would suggest contacting your local Department of Health. They should have a department within that agency that deals with this.

I'm not sure if your in the US, if so, google CDC or World Health Organization (WHO) and you should be able to locate local private and public travel clinics. You should be able to call first prior to going in for an overview of what's required for the specific areas your traveling to. You can ask at that time about whether an upcoming pregnancy is an issue. My PC is funky today - sorry, otherwise I would cut and paste the sites for you. Good luck with your fiance! Sherry p.s. I have lots of health issues and just got back from Africa feeling healthier than ever. The food was some of the best I've eaten - no parasites in the tourist areas. |
Thank you comtnboy and cybor! The CDC site seems overly cautious and overly inclusive as they lump all of Southern Africa together. I will call the NYS Dep't of Health.
