Has anyone driven from Ngorohgoro Crater to Migration Camp in one day?
Hi,
OK, I need some more help. We have two bids for our short safari and I have some questions:
One- has any one done the Ngorongoro Crater to Migration Camp drive in one day? Seems like I read a trip report about driving from the Crater to the Camp in one day. That person thought it was a good day, long, but with lots of game sightings.
Two- according to the Quotation from ATR it is about a 6 hour direct drive. I know that is a very long way in the Serengeti! But, is it really any worse than an all day game drive?
Three- there seem to be some optional routes. Can anyone tell me something about these? What might you see? Is it worth it?
First option-"optional back road detour to Lake Magadi and into central areas via Ronga and/or alternative optional back road detour from Simba Kopjes to Massia Kopjes". Apparently these are off the Simba to Seronera main road(or is it a rut!).
The second option must be between Seronera and Lobo- direct route 2 hours- optional "game drive around the Lobo Loop". They are also saying the last half hour from Lobo the Migration Camp is a game drive.
Thanks

I've done Sayari to Ngorongoro in a day!
It is quite possible, yes! Just be sure to give your guide a bit of rest the next day!
The road from Ngor to the Serengeti border is the worst - bumpy and very dusty with no wildlife except the odd giraffe and zebra or gazelle.
The road from Naabi Hill to Seronera has its bad moments but sometimes there is wildlife next to the road.
The roads away from the main road (between Naabi and Seronera) are actually easier on one's bottom! The Simba kopjes - Magadi - Maasai option is fine. As is the Lobo circuit.
You can see the Magadi-Maasai-Simba area on this image. Is a triangle in the middle of the pic:
