Urban Chic Hotel - Cape Town
Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Any opinions good or bad? I might be staying here for 4-5 nights during my time in Cape Town. Anyone know what parking is like around this area?

I have not stayed or viewed Urban Chic as it is relatively new to the The Cape Town scene however two of my visitors booked themselves into the establishment for 3 nights 3 weeks ago and the following was their report back to me.

Urban Chic is on Long Street by "the backpackers". It is a really modern,
new hotel. The hotel is good and very contemporary howeveR I would only recommend people who want to party all night to go there. In this regard one problem was the noise, the place is not double glazed and the pubs outside don't close until 4.30am SO you can therefore imagine the noise. We slept with earplugs in!!

The manager Tony was a really nice guy and very helpful.

To summarize Urban Chic is ONLY for party animals!

The only comment that I would like to add is that with the venue being on Long Street I do believe that unless the establishment offers you parking this concept will be a problem if you stay at this venue.

Hope this helps

I don't know if you'll find much parking in Long Street but I'm sure the hotel will advise you in this regard.
I think the Cape Heritage Hotel would also be a good choice in the city area.

My wife and I stayed in the Cape Heritage hotel in December and if you want a City Centre hotel with excellent staff and unique lovely rooms, then this is a good choice. R25 a day to park in the adjacent public car park too. Check out their website for details.

It sounds like you're looking for a more contemporary boutique hotel than the Cape Heritage (which is wonderful if you want a historic hotel). I'd recommend An Africa Villa or Liberty Lodge in Tamboerskloof. I stayed at An African Villa for a week when I was in Cape Town and it was a beautiful place with excellent hospitality. Liberty Lodge is their sister property. Both are within walking distance of Long Street and many great restaurants, but set in a peaceful neighbourhood. The website is:
