'and they have daily radio contact to avoid running into each other during walks.'
Actually, they cooperate in organising trips to the waterfalls and to the confluence of the Mwaleshi/Luangwa Rivers so only one group is there at a time. Otherwise, each of the camps stays in their 'area' and there is no chance of overlapping another camp's bush walking group. In all the time I spent in NLNP, the only time I saw another camp group bush walking, it was Mwaleshi walking their party the long way back to camp and I was on my way to pull their landcruiser out of the river...... again, with my landrover. |

There is one thing I wish I had done while in NLNP. I would have loved to organise a stay at Kutendala, Buffalo and Mwaleshi camps, doing a bush walk for my transfers between camps. Its only 10 kms as the bird flys between the camps progressively. A very easy walk. |
luangwablondes - Is the terrain, game density etc in the areas that Mwaleshi, Buffalo and Kutandala operate in very similar? Do you have a favourite? Why?

Luangwablondes,
I wasn't able to post a reply on your "walking safari" quiz thread....probably some website glitch! anyways, just want to say that i saw that very weird clip of Mad Mike and his toilet paper vs lions. Very bizarre! |
