U. A. E. company is seeking hunting concession in Lake Eyasi basin

I thought this might be of interest.

There was a previous thread about a U.A.E. hunting concession in Loliondo. I was doing some reading in the ArushaTimes. com and ran across this article indicating that a U.A.E. company is trying to obtain a hunting concession in the Lake Eyasi basin. It appears that at the moment it has been turned down but it may be only a temporary denial. I do not know if it is the same company with the Loliondo concession.

This paper gives some good figures about the hunting industry in Tanzania,
http://www.wildlife-programme.gtz.de...unting_wma.doc

In 2004 there were 141 hunting concessions in TZ, leased to 42 companies, with hunting tourism increasing.

I assume even Rocco doesn't know that he will stay at a camp that is managed by an hunting operator.
