I've been to the CCA lodge in Madikwe, and whilst the lodge is spectacular I found the game-viewing at the reserve a bit of a disappointment -- rather thin on the ground compared to other places I've been.

As I recall, my sources at CCA indicated that Londoz wil be with CCA through 2007 at least, but I will double-check to be sure.

BTW, have you considered dropping Madikwe and adding a few nights at Jack's or San to the beginning of your Botswana leg (before Mombo)? It would make a stunning contrast in environments and experiences.

Just want to add my vote for Jack's Camp (or San) - true enough there won't be the same density of wildlife, but you will see some. The pans themselves are marvelous, unforgettable, and so different from the other places you've mentioned. In August most of those places will look alike (the land I mean) and the Makgadikgadi will stand out. The activities are also EXTREMELY memorable. I like Julian's idea of going there first - that's what we did, and it was a nice introduction to our safari because our expectations weren't interfering with our pleasure. Good luck!

very interesting, we should form a "first at jacks" club. It was my first experience, my very day in Africa. What an introduction! After 3 days I thought "If I had to leave know, this trip still would be more than worth it". It's an experience beyond words. But it deserves 3 days, it is not a place that you can rush.
