Trip to Senegal-Ethics

I am going to Senegal next month and I would like to be a bit ?responsible?. Do you have any advice on what I could do? Could you give some advice on which NGOs and charities I could support financially or that I could give a hand to?

That's a very complicated subject. If you are going for a vacation or short trip, the best to do is always support local people and their work. Their handicrafts, their restaurants, and not pay money to middle men. You do best by paying for services to local people (and you will undoubtedly pay more than locals). You might have to search Google for Senegal NGO's, or charities to find other places to support. You might also want to ask on the Lonely Planet Africa board ( it's called Thorn Tree- Africa board) as there will be people there who have some volunteer experiences.
