Trip Report - Short and Sweet
#21
I also really liked the two rhinos facing off against the elephant. Impala alarm, lion on its back hugging tree, the eles, the rhinos in the mist, giraffe looking left and that great spoonbill shot. I enjoyed the artistic composition of many of your photos.

Thank you for all the positive comments. It is the nicest thing about this forum, being able to share photos and experiences with other people who have the same interests.
Samcat - I hope you can go to Lewa and enjoy the unique experience it offers but I hope that there are at least a few other people on the conservancy as it means visitors are coming back to Kenya. You will never find it crowded except when the marathon is on!
Atravelynn - the poor zebra tripped, how embarrassing for it, although it could have been worse, a predator could have been in hot pursuit. The photo at Sheldrick's was a candid shot and one I really liked as the keepers' days must involve so much waiting around and long sleepless nights, I admire them all so much.
I will tell my son that you liked the guinea fowl as he was very upset that the top of one of the heads was missing and couldn't enjoy the colours because of the cropping. Unforgiving child.
You always find such thoughtful things to say about peoples words and pictures, so thank you.
Leely2 - I am planning my return as in the planning I can while away many an hour with enjoyable visions of what I will see and where I will go. It will fill the inevitable months (years!) before I can go again.
My first posting has been a good experience so thanks to all the Fodorites who made comments for me.

I just had a chance to look at your pictures. You have some really unusual shots of people and animals (love the ones of the keeper at Sheldrick's, your guide in the side mirror, cheetah tail, rhino horn emerging). What a great way to express what you experienced on this trip, in addition to which animals you saw. Thanks for posting these! Lewa looks wonderful.

Thanks for pics and report, enjoyed very much. Our first trip, to Tanzania, on Oct. 9 and have been trying to decide which country to go to next, Kenya or Botswana. Every trip report I read, that's where I want to go! Decisions, decisions.
