We are working right now with Hamid on an itinerary that is very similar to the original posting. I will look into other suggested hotels / riads on the forum, but any suggestions for Rabat, Fes and Marrakech would be appreciated! Has anyone visited Morocco in late November / early December?

Question: how is the fee arranged for using a guide such as Mr. Hamid Dandane? There is a fee for guiding and then you pick up the costs of all accomodations/meals/gas? I really sounds like the way to go!

I'll slip in a second question - I will be transiting through Casa and would appreciate a recommendation for a clean, simple place to sleep to recover from my journey before heading to Fes in the a.m.

based on recommendations on this site and others, we booked Hamid Dandane for our trip to Morocco and I have to say we are thrilled with his service! In fact, I am in Morocco as I write this. I have a question: is it customary to give a "tip" in addition to the cost of the guide and driver? I am wondering if we should provide Hamid and Driss with an extra gratuity. daniel, thanks for the great trip report. I tried to look at your photos but it said there was no gallery. Was I doing anything wrong or is there a time limit.

would you consider going to Morocco in either early June or late April. we are going to France for a month May 09 and are considering a side trip to Morocco either before or after.

How does the guide work? I noticed there was another question, ie for two people roughly how much does a guide/driver cost. Only ball park, but it would be handy to just have an idea. Is this a all up cost?
