Very Low Fares NYC or Washington to Johannesburg
Got an email from Premier Travel that SAA has reduced fares for Tuesday and Wednesday departures to $488 plus tax R/T for the period Nov. 4 to Nov. 26. Travel must be completed by Dec. 5.

Got the same yesterday afternoon. URL is www.premiertours.com
However, it's really best to call their 800# to speak with one of the reps in their Air Dept.
The dates shown are definitely low season, as when we travelled from week before Thanksgiving to 5th Dec, back in '01. Then we paid about $900 r/t incl. taxes... so the $488 even with taxes is a deal after all these years.
Go for it!

if you are interested in frequent flier miles, i don't know that you will earn they or may earn a lesser amount with the premier fares. best to ask, they mentioned this when I was thinking of booking through them. still likely a good deal though.

Yes, a truly great deal. It comes to about 883 USD total for roundtrip from Washington to Johannesburg. However, not all the dates the special claims to be good for on their Web site are correct. I purchased this yesterday and called their offices to question the dates. They said only Tuesday/Wednesday, but I got a Thursday departure for the sale price. You will have to play around with departure dates to see which are good for the lower fare.

Also, I called Premier and they said their deal is the same as South African Airways. When I booked on flysaa.com, you have the option to put in your USair frequent flyer #. The only other US airline option I recall is United, I believe.
