Travelling from Tel Aviv to Haifa
 

I need information on how to get to Haifa from either Tel Aviv or Jerusalem.

It isn't far about 85 miles but not sure if will take a long time or not.

Also can someone recommend a tour guide/driver to assist us.

It's easy to get to Haifa from Tel Aviv by train, bus, or possibly also a "sherut" (shared taxi). The buses and trains are frequent and reasonably priced.
What are you seeing in Haifa that you want a guide. You don't need one just to get from city to city unless you have mibility issues or some other similar reason.

Jerusalem to Haifa is bus only since the decent rail connections out of Jerusalem aren't really there yet

Alexa: thanks for the info. There will be 10 of us altogether so we thought a tour guide with a van or something like that would be preferable to train or bus.
Our friends want to see the Bahai Center in Haifa.

Also do you know how far it is from Haifa to Amman Jordan.

If you are thinking o having a guide with a van simply because you are a group of 10 people, it still is not a cost effective decision. A guide/driver with a van will charge you about $550-600 for a day - certainly a good idea if you are looking for a guide, but just for transport it doesn't make sense.
The bus from Jerusalem to Haifa, or the bus or train from Tel Aviv will cost you much, much less.

My favourite mode of travel would be train--clean, speedy, direct, no worries about getting stuck in traffic. I'd say get a guide locally to meet you in Haifa.

How to get to Haifa from Jerusalem Tel Aviv:

At Haifa there is 2 central bus station, and few train stations.
The best station is Haifa Hof Hacramel, which is the southern station ( both Bus & Train ) and its just next to the Beach and the Matam industrial park.
So after the ride you can enjoy the beach and have nice fruit shake at the Camel Bar.

From there you can the take Taxi / Local bus.

From Tel Aviv: the best to get to Haifa is Buy Train, there is direct line – 1H ride.

From Jerusalem: Take direct bus, Line 940, just 2H – Make sure to take the direct line – via road No 6.

Don’t Take the train !!! Its take long time, slow, and need to change train, and the train station at the Jerusalem is a remote place ( take time and money to get there )

What to do in Haifa:

Haifa has allot to offer, you can do it your self, enjoy the city: German colony, Baha'is gardens, Druz villages…

Since you are party of ten, I think the best is to try to hire a Van that will pick you up, and drop you where you need, so you save time and money ( and don’t need to waste time getting to the bus station.

Take daily tour from Jerusalem to Haifa – its more cost effective & recommended for individuals.

Take a private tour: Guide + Driver, so you will also will have added value to your time and visit to the city, and on the way…
